About Us

Chan Quach - Founder

Chan Quach is a professional avian behaviorist with a focus on psittacine and raptor behavior, welfare, training, and free flight. His methodology integrates principles of positive reinforcement, nutritional optimization, and species-appropriate husbandry to foster behavioral resilience and strengthen the human–animal bond.

Chan’s philosophy underscores the importance of behavioral enrichment and environmental complexity in preventing stereotypes, chronic stress, and behavioral pathologies commonly associated with long-term confinement. His work challenges traditional paradigms of bird ownership and advocates for a standard of care that prioritizes behavioral health alongside physical health.

Vicki Gardner

Vicki Gardner has been a licensed falconer in California since 2019 and holds a federal permit to conduct raptor education programs alongside her daughter, Kendall. Together, they are dedicated to inspiring a deep appreciation for raptors by engaging the community through fun, educational classes and presentations.

Vicki’s long-term vision is to establish a sanctuary focused on the care of senior, retired, and injured falconry raptors—offering them a safe and enriching environment in their later years.

After meeting Chan and learning about his methods, unique skill set, and witnessing the extraordinary bond he shares with his birds—both raptors and parrots—Vicki is honored to join him at the Avian Center for Enrichment and see this dream come to life. Together, they are committed to helping birds of all species live their best lives in partnership with the humans who love them.

Kendall Gardner

From the moment Kendall Gardner discovered falconry at just 12 years old, she knew she had found her life’s passion. Captivated by birds of all kinds, she was drawn to their extraordinary abilities. Birds have one of the most unique and intricate anatomy for flight, that allows them to travel anywhere they wish. This passion evolved into a mission: to work hands-on with some of the most remarkable avian species, especially those often overlooked.

Kendall is now dedicated to caring for disabled, abandoned, and at-risk birds, offering them a second chance through compassion and expertise. For her, partnering with these majestic creatures is nothing short of transformative, building deep and trusting relationships that not only enrich their lives, but inspire a deeper understanding and respect for raptors everywhere.
